This site, which includes the former home of Ida Saxton McKinley, was established to preserve and interpret the role, impact, and history of First Ladies and other notable women in American history. There is a physical education facility, an electronic virtual library, and a complete annotated bibliography of First Ladies--from Martha Custis Washington to Laura Bush--which is updated each year. Costumed docents conduct tours of the historic home. The National First Ladies' Library and the National Park Service cooperatively manage the site.
